About Me

Hey, thanks for stopping by. There's water on the stove for hot tea, and there's soda in the fridge. Grab something to drink and make yourself at home.

I'm Keisha. I'm in my early 40s, and I'm an author. I'm a lot of other things, too, but this blog is mostly about my books, so we'll focus on that side of things. I've been writing since I was in high school, but it took a lot of talking, and doing NaNoWriMo one year, to convince me to go ahead and publish. Some of the characters that I'm writing about today have been with me for years, and it's finally time for me to tell you their stories.

I have moved through my life, trying to find my place, and never being quite sure that I fit in, but these days, I
think I was never supposed to fit in, and I'm quite okay with that. It has taken a long time to strip away all the layers and find the person that I truly am-and I think that's not a process that many of us are truly comfortable with doing until we're in our late 30s. Some of us are born in that space, where we can be who we want to be, always, without worry of judgment or ridicule. Some of never get there. The rest, stumble along, until we find that magical, mythical place of true freedom.

I guess I woke up on the philosophical side of the bed this morning. Sorry about that.

Anyway, my day job is as a freelance writer. It's kind of cool, getting to do something that I love, for a living. Sometimes, I'm writing about topics that I don't necessarily love. I can talk for days about school supplies and tourism in Iowa and pre-printed promotional items, because I've written a lot about those topics, or topics similar to those. But even when I don't love the topic, I love the work, because it's still a form of self expression, much like the photographer who professionally shoots weddings and senior pictures so that she can afford to spend a week in the mountains of New Zealand taking pictures to her heart's content!

Throughout my life I have been a daughter, a sister, a lover, a mother, a wife, and a friend. I am all of those things, but I am also an author. If you would like to chat, be sure to click one of the social media icons over there to get in touch with me, or email me at keishakpage@gmail.com.

  1. Hi Keisha,
I like how you believe that finding our way in life can be something we truly explore in our mid thirties - it happening like that for me too. It's as though we need some time to have a bit of a look around before we decide on what's right for us.
    thanks

  2. Q: How long do our lifetimes last?
    A: 1-outta-1 bites-the-dust, babe,
and if you dont yet know,
lemme show you how to wiseabove:

When our eternal soul leaves our body
and we riseabove to meet our Maker,
    only four, last things remain:
    death, judgement, Heaven or Hell
according to the deeds we mortals
have done in our finite existence.
